Alaistaire & Fiona Brice have grown Havensfield Happy Hens on the basis of quality eggs at realistic prices. They produce and supply fresh free range hen eggs, duck eggs and quail eggs across East Anglia.
Havensfield Happy Hens place an emphasis on bird welfare (Happy Hens), quality assurance and traceability in order to provide a high quality free range egg. All their flocks are relatively small in todays commercial free range industry, as producers and packers they choose to keep their flocks below 5,000 birds, enabling better management of the birds and the grass they range.
Their ducks are kept in large airy straw yards in group sizes of four hundred. They lay their brilliant white eggs in wooden boxes on straw and the eggs are collected daily. Japanese quail are kept in small groups on the floor of sheds on shavings, sand and chopped straw. The eggs are laid in small boxes and collected daily by hand.
